Heavy Houthi shelling of southern Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia

A roadside bomb exploded in the Saudi border town of Jazan, leaving no casualties.

Houthi militia cross-border attacks on Saudi Arabia have increased sharply over the past few months. Although most of the strikes have been thwarted, attempts to strike with missiles, drones and naval vessels have continued. Lives have been saved.

Saudi officials say the Saudi border town of Jazan, which borders Yemen, has come under heavy cross-border shelling by Houthis. A shell fired by Houthis landed on a roadside in the local village of Fada. Whose shells fell far and wide. Fortunately, no casualties or damage were reported.

Colonel Muhammad bin Yahya al-Ghamdi, a spokesman for the Civil Defense in Jazan, said the population was a short distance away, so there was no damage from the shelling, otherwise there could have been a major threat to the civilian population.

Laghmadi further said that immediate and effective response has been given to the shelling by the Houthis. It should be noted that an attempt has been made to target Jazan with hundreds of drones laden with explosives. A few days ago, an attempt to target Saudi Arabia with an explosive-laden drone was foiled. Col. Turki al-Maliki, a spokesman for the Arab League for Yemen, told the media that a drone sent to southern Saudi Arabia had been stopped and destroyed.

The drone targeted urban areas, but was shot down by joint forces in a timely manner. A few days ago, the Houthi militia of Yemen tried to hit the Saudi kingdom with 5 explosive drones, but the diligent Saudi forces shot down all the bomber drones before reaching the target. In this way, Saudi Arabia escaped any loss of life and property.

According to Colonel Turki al-Maliki, three drones were shot down inside Yemen, while one was destroyed on the Yemeni-Saudi border. Last week, Saudi Arabia was attacked in a single day by six drones laden with explosives. However, the Arab coalition forces took timely action and destroyed the planes. In this way, Saudi Arabia narrowly escaped catastrophe
